Courtney S. Turner Hall, the freshmen male residence hall, was built in 1957 and was renovated in 2005. It houses 140 men.

Hall Information

  • Room Dimensions: 11'6" x 13'6", slight variations do exist.
  • Bathrooms: Each floor has a communal bathroom.
  • Furniture Supplied: Bunk bed with two mattresses, one dresser, two desks, two closets with ample storage area, two desk chairs, and two small safes (no padlock included)
  • Appliances: The dorm kitchen in the Turner Lounge is equipped with an oven and stove, full-size refrigerator, sink, and counter and table spaces. The kitchen is open to all residents.
  • Security: Students have a hard key for their room and their student ID unlocks three of the hall’s four exterior doors. The hall doors are locked 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Non–resident Benedictine student visitors can access Turner Hall with their Student ID card between 8:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m.
  • Accessibility: There is an elevator which operates to all four floors. (RA accompaniment required)
  • Laundry & Vending: There is a Laundry Room on the Ground Floor, with four washing machines and four dryers. There is a soda vending machine located in the lounge.
  • Lounges: There is one main lounge, the St. Augustine Lounge, located on the Ground Floor of Turner Hall. The lounge is open to men 24 hours a day, and the hours that women are welcome follow the normal visitation hours.
  • Recreation: Students have access to a lounge that is complete with a wide-screen television, two ping-pong tables, two pool tables, kitchen and computer/study area.
  • Lofts: No lofts are permitted.

Resident Director: Nick Koester

Nick is a 2022 graduate from Benedictine. In his time at Benedictine Nick served as an RA in St. Joseph Hall for two years and majored in Psychology. Nick is from St. Louis Missouri where he taught Middle School Science and Religion at a Catholic School for a year. Nick married his wife Lindsay on February 11th, the Feast of our Lady of Lourdes! Nick and Lindsay are excited to be back at Benedictine forming the next generation of great men!
