Center for Beauty & Culture

The Center for Beauty and Culture’s mission is to demonstrate that beauty, which is the revelation to the mind, through the senses, of the fullness of God’s presence, can save the world through artists who understand and apply objective standards of beauty at the service of truth and goodness.

Following the Transforming Culture in America Strategic Plan, the Center for Beauty and Culture provides for the following key areas of Formation, Extension and Profession.

Formation

  • Center Director Denis McNamara teaches a Liturgical Arts and Architecture course.
  • The Center for Beauty and Culture has hosted several campus speakers and artist visits.
  • At the Transforming Culture in America Symposium, the Center will lead a track dedicated to relevant topics; these presentations are available to the entire community.

Extension

  • Center for Beauty and Culture events are open to the public.
  • The Center offers free educational videos.
  • The Center’s “Liturgy Guys” podcast reaches thousands weekly.
  • Center Director Denis McNamara regularly writes for publications such as Magnificat and Word on Fire that spread the work of the Center far beyond campus.
