Available Immersion tracks include:
“I will sing praise with my spirit, but I will sing with my mind also.” -- St. Paul
Do you want to become a better musician? Use your gifts to give back to the Lord? Meet other talented singers? Come to this conference to have an awesome week growing musically and spiritually as you explore traditions in Catholic praise.
BCYC Immersion Voice is a weeklong vocal conference, providing an opportunity for students to grow in fellowship and technical skill while combining musical talent with love for the Lord. This camp concludes with a public concert to showcase the talent of this group and their hard work during the week.
“The only palliative is to keep the clean sea breeze of the centuries blowing through our minds, and this can be done only by reading old books.” -- C.S. Lewis
“Faith and reason are like two wings on which the human spirit rises to the contemplation of the truth.” -- St. John Paul II
BCYC Immersion’s Great Books program gives students the opportunity to start to enter the great conversation about the fundamental truths of human existence that thinkers have been engaged in for centuries. Professors lead students through some of the most engaging and ennobling texts in history — from the ancient world to the 20th century.
"Be on guard for yourselves and for all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God which He purchased with His own blood." -- Acts 20:28
Are you interested in learning more about who you are and what you have to offer as a leader? Are you interested in how to effectively lead your peers without compromising your integrity? Do you want to know how to motivate a team or deal constructively with conflict? Do you want to learn how to formulate a vision and design an action plan? If you are interested in developing these and other skills as a leader then BCYC Immersion's Leadership program is for you.
Now BCYC Immersion can offer high school science lab credit. Explore chemistry or biology this summer at Cathedral and come away with a reignited faith and a lab credit.
Study with Benedictine College science professors who know how to make science engaging, and how to lead students in discovering the natural world.
Chemistry - Benedictine College’s Chemistry and Biochemistry Department is known for its research relating to both medicine and agriculture. The BCYC Immersion program introduces students to the chemical sciences that are integral to many disciplines in today's high-technology society and gives students hands-on experience with chemical reactions and principles.
Engineering - Benedictine College's Engineering Department is one of the fastest-growing areas of the college. This track will help participants grow in understanding of the rules of this applied science, learning through first-hand experience and lab demonstrations facilitated by Benedictine Engineering professors.
