Archbishop Naumann's Five Goals

As a Catholic college and a ministry of the Catholic Church for over 150 years, Benedictine College Ministry shares in the goals of our Archbishop and the Archdiocese of Kansas City in Kansas. The Benedictine College Ministry St. Martin Center actively participates in these five goals set forth by Archbishop Joseph Naumann.

  • Evangelization & Catholic Formation of Adults - An essential part of the mission is to bring people into contact with Jesus Christ and to provide them the opportunity to be transformed by His love. One of the means by which the Church accomplishes this goal is through the sacramental life of the Church.
  • Evangelism - Jesus gave the Church its mission to go and make disciples of all nations. The Church can never be content to preserve the status quo. We must always be striving to bring more people to Christ and Christ to more people.
  • Catechesis and Catholic Education - The Church is called to transmit the faith to the next generation. Through Catholic Schools and other forms of Catholic Education, we strive to communicate the fullness of our Catholic faith to our youth.
  • Serving Those in Need - One essential component of the mission of the Church is to make the love of Jesus tangible in the world. We are called to make God's love real, especially for the poor and vulnerable.
  • Spirituality of Stewardship - The Church is called to foster in all of its members a spirituality of stewardship. This spirituality begins with a profound sense of gratitude that recognizes that everything, including life itself, is God's gift. From this gratitude, we are inevitably led to ask ourselves, how can we use the gifts that God has entrusted to us to glorify Him and for the good of others?
