Student Recreation Center - Atrium

With traditional Benedictine College architecture, the Atrium welcomes visitors to the Rec Center. A center employee will sign students in by taking their IDs and getting a rough idea of what their workout plans are. Cards will be swiped upon entrance and returned upon departure.

Study Lounge

In designing the building, the college talked to other schools about how their rec centers were used. They found that rec centers frequently became study areas as students congregate before or after exercising. Therefore we have put in a warmer, carpeted area with study tables to facilitate studying.

Benedictine College’s mission is community, faith and scholarship, and this building will be no different. The building includes community areas; a crucifix will be placed above the door as a reminder of faith and a study area for scholarship.

Snack Bar

The vending area will encourage community-building and tables will allow for study spaces.

Lockers Hallway

Separate Men’s and women locker rooms each have toilets, two showers and 20 lockers.  The hallway features drinking fountains and a water bottle-filling station.
