Dr. Harrison Sheckler is an American pianist, composer, educator, and producer whose work spans classical performance, composition, large-scale collaborative projects, and media. Originally from Charles City, Iowa, he holds degrees from the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music and the Brooklyn College Conservatory of Music, where he studied with Dr. Soyeon Kate Lee and Jeffrey Biegel, respectively. He recently completed the Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Piano Performance at the University of Arizona, where he studied with Dr. John Milbauer and Dr. Daniel Linder, with a minor in Composition under Dan Asia.

Sheckler has received numerous honors, including top prizes in the Terrace Hill Endowment for the Musical Arts Competition and the Music Teachers National Association Senior Piano Duet Competition, along with multiple prestigious scholarships and awards. As a composer and orchestrator, his work has been performed by major ensembles, including the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, which premiered his orchestration of Jeffrey Biegel’s Reflections of Justice: An Ode to Ruth Bader Ginsburg in 2021. The complete concerto was subsequently performed with Jeffrey Biegel by both the Space Coast Symphony in Florida and the Montgomery Symphony Orchestra.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Sheckler gained international recognition for his Virtual Choir Project, an innovative series that united hundreds of singers across the globe through technology. His 2020 production of “You’ll Never Walk Alone” featured over 300 participants from 15 countries and has surpassed 1.9 million views on YouTube. Subsequent projects have included collaborations with former Major League Baseball pitcher Bronson Arroyo and, most recently, a 2024 release featuring two-time GRAMMY® Award winner Gloria Gaynor in a new gospel video of “Talkin’ ’Bout Jesus,” from her GRAMMY®-winning album Testimony. These projects established the Sheckler Virtual Choir as a distinctive model for large-scale, digitally produced choral collaboration.

In addition to his work as a performer and composer, Sheckler is an active educator and arts leader. He serves as Director of Music at Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Olathe, Kansas, and as Adjunct Professor of Piano at Benedictine College in Atchison, Kansas. He has previously held teaching and church music positions in Iowa and Arizona, including Visiting Professor of Piano at Wartburg College.

Sheckler is also the creator and host of The Sheckler Spotlight, an interview podcast featuring artists, athletes, actors, and cultural leaders, which has released more than 30 episodes and continues to expand nationally.

Outside of music, he maintains a lifelong passion for baseball, travel, and the arts, and continues to pursue interdisciplinary projects that bridge performance, storytelling, and large-scale creative collaboration.
