Dr. A. Max Sayler earned a B.S. in Physics & Philosophy from Kansas State University in 2002 and 2004, respectively, and went on to the graduate program, there where he earned an Ph.D. in Atomic, Molecular, and Optical (AMO) Physics in 2008. He then spent 10 years as a postdoctoral research fellow and then nonlinear optics group leader at the Institut für Optik und Quantenelektronik at Friedrich-Schiller-Universität, Jena, Germany. He became an Associate Professor of Benedictine College’s Physics and Astronomy department in 2020 and has a strong interest in philosophy as well as scientific education and outreach and is looking forward to helping current and future Ravens become principled leaders in all aspects of their lives whatever their future pursuits may be.
