Study Abroad - More Countries

Benedictine College students have the opportunity to enroll in study abroad programs in a large variety of countries and areas of study.

Exchange Programs

Exchange Programs are a great opportunity for immersion in a foreign country. Students don’t necessarily need to speak another language, as an increasing number of universities in many countries offer courses in English. Exchange programs imply that an international student comes to study at our college in place of the student going abroad.

BC is part of the following exchange programs:

ISEP. The International Student Exchange Program consists of a network of over 300 colleges and universities in 50 countries across the globe. Students can choose to take classes in the host language or English. This program can be semester long or year long.

It is the first and only Catholic liberal arts college in Australia. All courses are in English, with a focus on Philosophy and Theology courses. Non-Affiliated Programs

If students are interested in a program that is not affiliated with Benedictine College they can still apply through Benedictine, however, they must be aware that the approval process must start at the beginning of the semester prior to the one the student plans to study abroad. Students are required to complete the college’s online Study Abroad Application form (see link on top of this page) which provides notice to the college of the student’s intent to study abroad. The student must then meet with relevant college offices, including the Business Office, the Office of Academic Records and Registration, and the Financial Aid Office. Meeting with these offices helps verify the student’s enrollment status while abroad, helps ensure the courses taken abroad will transfer to Benedictine, and allows the student to understand how financial aid might be accessed to help pay for the study abroad program. Priority Deadlines to submit the study abroad online form are September 30 for the spring semester, February 28 for the summer term, and March 31 for the fall semester. A timely application along with required student meetings with college offices noted, will ensure all the relevant paperwork is taken care of well in advance of making final plans.
