Studio Art

The Undergraduate degree in Art equips students with the fundamental skills needed to pursue a career in the arts. Introductory and advanced course offerings build a solid foundation in drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, ceramics, photography, and graphic design.  Special topics courses are routinely offered covering a variety of subjects ranging from mixed media methods, encaustic painting, and installation, to typography and bookmaking. Fine Art studios located in Bishop Fink Hall provide specialized spaces provided with the equipment necessary for artistic practice and skill development. In addition to traditional studio spaces, the art department is also complete with a Mac OS computer lab, photography darkroom, and woodshop. In addition to studio courses, students are required to take three semesters of Art History.
