Matthew Tynan, '87

Matthew “Matt” Tynan is a member of the management team of the Tynan family’s automotive dealerships sharing responsibilities with his brothers and cousins. The Tynan dealerships have operated successfully for over 40 years and currently employee 200 individuals.

A Denver native, Matt attended Christ the King Grade School and Regis Jesuit High School. He earned a B.A. from Benedictine College in 1987 and a M.S. from Emporia State University in 1990.  Matt served as Co-Chair of the Legislative Policy Committee for the Colorado Automobile Dealers Association, lobbying and testifying before the Colorado House and Senate on matters directly impacting the automotive industry in Colorado.

He is a Trustee of the Catholic Foundation for the Roman Catholic Church in Northern Colorado serving on both the Executive Committee and the Nominating Committee; is a member of the Bishop Machebeuf High School Development Advisory Team; and has served as President of the Development Council for Mount Saint Vincent Home and as a Board of Trustee for Bishop Machebeuf High School.

Matt and Peggy are active in their home parish of St. Vincent DePaul.  Peggy is a member of an ENDOW (Educating on the Nature and Dignity of Women) study group, coaches volleyball, yearbook coordinator, and member of a bible study group.  Matt coaches basketball. Supporting Catholic education is a priority for the Tynans.

Matt and Peggy (Roth) have five children--Molly, Joe, Maggie, Danny and Will.
