Navigate Faculty and Staff Resource Page
The Navigate platform, from the Student Success Collaborative at EAB, allows academic advisors, student support services, faculty, coaches, and other staff at Benedictine College to provide consistent and coordinated care for students. Our goal is to help our faculty and staff be increasingly connected, proactive, and guided by data, all while helping our students navigate their college experience with greater clarity and success.
Navigate has many tools useful for faculty and staff:
- View students’ records and progress
- Schedule appointments and keep records
- Access user-friendly search tools and reports
- Launch proactive, targeted campaigns
- View institution reports
- Track usage, produce reports, and evaluate outcomes
- Engage students in academic advising and student support services

Reference the Student Profile: After clicking on a student’s name through the search results, your Staff Home, or the Quick Search, you may note a student’s Academic progress and any areas of concern with the various tabs on a student’s profile. View PDF Guide
Add Notes or An Advising Summary Reports: Record your interactions and follow-ups from student meetings by adding an Advising Summary Report (record associated with an appointment) or a Note (general record not associated with a specific meeting). View PDF Guide
- Both are accomplished through the ‘Actions’ menu on your Staff home or search results, or from a student’s profile.
- Reminder! For scheduled appointments, add summary reports from the “Upcoming Appointments” tab of the staff home.
IMPORTANT – Text Message Policy: Before emailing a group of students or texting students, please read the Benedictine College Text Message Policy.
Mass Email or Text a Group of Students: Use ‘Send a Message’ from the ‘Actions’ drop-down to contact your Assigned Advisees list or other lists you’ve created in the platform. View PDF Guide
How to Issue and Review Navigate Alerts: Alerts are a way to draw attention to a student who might be at risk for a variety of reasons. An alert will trigger an intervention. Some Alerts will trigger an email to be sent to the student containing recommended steps and resources to help resolve the issue, while other Alerts will open Cases, and at least one Alert will say “good work!” View PDF Guide
Create an Appointment Campaign: Use this to invite a group of students (possibly all of your advisees) by setting up an advising appointment campaign during times you have designated. View PDF Guide or watch a short video
Progress Reports Use Progress Report to report students’ 4-week grades and attendance. We can also use them for students grades and reporting at times at ad hoc times. We may be developing other uses for Progress Reports as we expand our use of Navigate. View PDF Guide
