What is Formula SAE?

Formula SAE (FSAE) is a globally recognized collegiate design competition organized by SAE International (formerly the Society of Automotive Engineers). It challenges university students to design, build, and race a small, open-wheel, formula-style race car.

Where and when is the competition?

The main Formula SAE competition typically takes place every May in Michigan. The competition is a four-day event where the car is judged in both static events (like design, cost, and business presentation) and dynamic events (like acceleration, skid-pad, autocross, and a final endurance race).

Can I join the team?

Yes! Benedictine College students of any major can apply to be part of one of the many divisions needed to take on this energizing challenge.

Can I be a sponsor or donate to the team?

Yes! And thank you! The support of sponsors and donors directly benefits students at Benedictine College by providing them with access to hands-on technical education and professional development opportunities that extend beyond the classroom.
