If a sponsor wishes to contribute to the capstone program on behalf of another entity or cause, that is certainly possible. Donor options include:
- Third-party customer. A donor can fund a project for another entity, such as a non-profit. As an example, donations have funded projects for the Atchison Hospital physical therapy program.
- Benedictine College as customer. A donor can fund a project for use by Benedictine College. As an example, project teams have designed and built lab equipment and an SAE Baja buggy.
- Junior Design class as customer. Junior Design projects are executed during the spring semester by students in the mechanical engineering major, beginning in January and concluding in April. These are considerably smaller in scope than the senior projects, and performed by a team of 3-4 junior ME students. The sponsor can fund a project of the students’ choice, with typical cost ranging from $500-$2000.
