The Virtue of Hope: Psychological and Spiritual Perspectives

The Benedictine College Gregorian Fellows are pleased to bring Dr. Aaron Kheriaty, Associate Professor of Psychiatry and Director of the Program in Medical Ethics at the University of California - Irvine School of Medicine, for a special guest lecture on Monday, September 15, at 7:00 p.m. in the McAllister Board Room, located on the fourth floor of the Ferrell Academic Center on the college campus. His lecture is free and open to the public.

Kheriaty is the author of the book, The Catholic Guide to Depression, and co-author of, Transformative Conversations, and has written several articles and essays for professional and lay audiences.  He lectures regularly on topics related to psychiatry, social science, bioethics, and spirituality.

He graduated from the University of Notre Dame with undergraduate degrees in philosophy and pre-medical sciences, and earned his MD from Georgetown University. In addition to his other duties at the University of California – Irvine, he serves as chairman of the Clinical Ethics Committee at UCI Medical Center.

Kheriaty lives in San Juan Capistrano, California, with his wife and five sons.
