Pregame Benedictine Tailgate Set for July 10 Game

Tuesday, June 24, 2014

Katie Lind, a senior at Benedictine College, will sing the Star Spangled Banner at Kauffman Stadium prior to the July 10 Kansas City Royals game against the Detroit Tigers. In conjunction with the event, the college is planning a special Benedictine Night at the ballpark.

Benedictine Alumni Relations has organized a pregame tailgate in Lot N beginning at 5:30 p.m. The game will start at 7:10 p.m. All Ravens are asked to wear RED Raven gear so we stand out at the ballpark. Rocky will be at the tailgate and may even be visiting in the stands, so come out and enjoy a night with your alumni friends and the Royals.

Lind is majoring in history and education and is not a music major at Benedictine, but she is known for her beautiful voice and sings at many college events. She has performed the National Anthem before Benedictine baseball and football games many times over the last several years. Dayton Moore, the Royals' general manager, heard her sing when he was on the Benedictine campus in the spring talking to a leadership class. He put her in touch with the Royals organization that deals with the pregame program and she was immediately accepted based on her audition CD.

There are a limited number of seats available for the group, so reserve yours today and invite others to do the same! Game tickets are $15 and attendees will have the opportunity to sit with fellow Ravens. If the ticket block is sold out, don't fear...come on out to the tailgate and get your tickets at the park. You'll still be able to sit with the group.
