Benedictine College Ranked in Top 20 by U.S. News

Atchison, Kan. (Sept. 9, 2014) – For the eighth consecutive year, Benedictine College has been named to the top tier of colleges and universities in the 2014 edition of “America’s Best Colleges,” published by U.S. News Media Group.  U.S. News ranks 95 colleges in the Midwest Regional Colleges category, and Benedictine jumped up to the Top 20 in the region, landing at #20 on the new list. The annual rankings – in which U.S. News groups schools based on categories created by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching – provide a resource for parents and students considering higher education opportunities. Using a proprietary methodology, the annual U.S. News rankings represent the most comprehensive look at how schools stack up based on a set of 15 widely-accepted indicators of excellence, and help consumers evaluate and compare data compiled from more than 1,400 accredited four-year schools.

Benedictine College has been busy in the past year, welcoming the largest fulltime undergraduate enrollment in history at more than 1,800. The college recently completed the 58,000-square-foot Ferrell Academic Center and the school has added 11 new residence halls since 2000, growing by nearly 100% in ten years. In addition to residence halls, this year saw the addition of a new dining hall, a new Student Success Center, and new baseball and softball stadiums.
