Faculty Search - Physics Instructor

Benedictine College is seeking a full-time, Assistant Professor in Physics to start in August 2019 in a one-year replacement position. We anticipate reopening the search for a tenure-track assistant professor for the 2020/21 academic year, for which the successful candidate is welcome to reapply. Desired qualifications include strong potential in teaching and the ability to mentor undergraduate research. We are a liberal arts school offering majors in both physics and astronomy, so teaching duties will include advanced courses for our own majors, service courses for engineering and other science majors, and general education classes. The area of research interests is open, but the ability to provide research opportunities for undergraduates is expected. The Department of Physics and Astronomy currently has four full-time members and is housed in a STEM building that has just completed a $25M expansion and renovation.
