Graduate Assistant for Youth Outreach

Graduate Assistants act as helpers to their departments, students or professors in a research or administrative capacity. Their primary responsibilities include assisting with various administrative tasks, organizing campus events and conducting various research task.

For students intending to get an MBA:

GA positions require a two year commitment to the College. GA’s cannot complete the MBA program in less than two calendar years.

You must first apply and be accepted into the MBA program in order to be selected for a Graduate Assistant position.

You must receive a GA position before being enrolled in any MBA courses; once you have been enrolled in any MBA courses you are no longer eligible to receive a GA position.

Lastly, individuals must remain in good-standing in the graduate program in order to continue in the GA position.

Position Summary

The Youth Outreach Graduate Assistant will work up to 20 hours per week during the fall and spring semesters, will be an active part of the BCYC Missionary Team for two summers, and is responsible for the following duties, including but not limited to:

  • Providing direct support to the Director of Youth Outreach
  • Coordinating and providing leadership to the student Youth Outreach Teams
  • Collaborating with students to help prepare and execute successful youth retreats, events, and summer conferences both on campus and at parishes throughout the region throughout the academic year and during the summer
  • Providing general support to all Ministry Leadership Team members as requested, including in ministry tasks and projects other than youth outreach as needed throughout the year
  • Graduate assistants are expected to perform their duties in a professional and timely manner.

* Individuals must be accepted into the Benedictine College graduate program in order to be selected for Graduate Assistant positions. Furthermore, individuals must remain in good-standing in the graduate program in order to continue in the GA position.


  • Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in a related field of study
  • * Must be fully admitted to a Master’s program at Benedictine College


  • Familiarity with Catholic youth ministry preferred
  • Experience with a college ministry youth outreach team is ideal
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • The ideal candidate will be familiar with and embrace Benedictine College Ministry’s vision and mission


  • Full tuition waiver (books and fees not included) with completion and approval of Tuition Benefit Form each semester.
  • Room, board, and a reasonable stipend during Summer months.
