Graduate Assistant - The Raven Store

Graduate Assistants act as helpers to their departments, students or professors in a research or administrative capacity. Their primary responsibilities include assisting with various administrative tasks, organizing campus events and conducting various research task.

Students intending to get an MBA: you must receive a GA position before being enrolled in any MBA courses; once you have been enrolled in any MBA courses you are no longer eligible to receive a GA position.

* Individuals must be accepted into the Benedictine College graduate program in order to be selected for Graduate Assistant positions. Furthermore, individuals must remain in good-standing in the graduate program in order to continue in the GA position.

Position Summary

The Graduate Assistant in The Raven Store will work up to 20 hours per week and is responsible for:

  • Assist The Raven Store, Director in daily operations.
  • Serve as a resource person for student’s staff in the absence of the store director.
  • Assist with Point-of-Sales (POS): cashier, opening, closing, balancing and generating monthly reports.
  • Oversee student workers schedules with the director.
  • Assist with staff training.
  • Attend vendor meeting with The Raven Store, Director: view and select product, assist with product plans and generate PO’s.
  • Actively involved with receiving merchandise: receipts, pricing, stock presentation, displays and payment of invoices.
  • Prepare and participate in inventory and reconciling inventory (semi-annually)
  • Assist with online The Raven Store: setting up new product, photograph new product and maintaining inventory levels.
  • Work with the store director and Marketing Department planning and coordinating store advertising.
  • Assist with special events on campus: home football games, move-in, graduation…
  • Perform additional job related duties as assigned.
  • Follow company policies and procedures.


  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • * Must be fully admitted in a Master’s Degree program at Benedictine College
  • * The Raven Store Graduate Assistant position is a 2-year commitment.


  • Retail experience required, minimum 1-2 years
  • Marketing / Social Media experience – understand and proficient using Facebook and Instagram
  • Photography experience and use of Photoshop preferred not required


  • Full tuition waiver (books and fees not included) with completion and approval of Tuition Benefit Form each semester.
