Ministry Graduate Assistant with General Emphasis

Graduate Assistants act as helpers to their departments, students or professors in a research or administrative capacity. Their primary responsibilities include assisting with various administrative tasks, organizing campus events and conducting various research task.

Students intending to get an MBA: you must receive a GA position before being enrolled in any MBA courses; once you have been enrolled in any MBA courses you are no longer eligible to receive a GA position.

* Individuals must be accepted into the Benedictine College graduate program in order to be selected for Graduate Assistant positions.  Furthermore, individuals must remain in good-standing in the graduate program in order to continue in the GA position.

Position Summary

The Ministry Graduate Assistant with a general Ministry emphasis will commit to two years and work approximately 20 hours per week for the fall and spring semesters and is responsible for the following duties, including but not limited to:

  • Providing direct support to the Director of College Ministry
  • Collaborating with the administrative assistant to provide support with some general administrative duties
  • Collaborating and providing leadership to the student Retreat Team, Service Team, Music Team, Chapel Team, Hospitality Team, Stewardship Team, A/V Tech team, Mission Team, or other, depending on the individual GA applicant strengths
  • Providing general support to all Ministry Leadership Team members as requested, including ministry tasks and projects as needed throughout the year
  • Graduate assistants are expected to perform their duties in a professional and timely manner, including keeping a regular schedule of office hours.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in related field of study
  • * Must be accepted into a Benedictine College graduate program

Experience / Skills

  • Experience and familiarity with Catholic college ministry is ideal
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • The ideal candidate will be familiar with and embrace Benedictine College Ministry’s vision and mission

Compensation

  • Full tuition waiver (books and fees not included) with completion and approval of Tuition Benefit Form each semester
