Dear St. Gregory’s University student,

Benedictine College’s thoughts and prayers are with the students, faculty and staff of St. Gregory’s University as we learn the news of your school’s decision to suspend operations. We understand how difficult it had to be to come to that decision, and are here to support the St. Gregory’s University community through this transition.

As a fellow Catholic college recommended by the Cardinal Newman Society and founded by Benedictine monks in 1858, we would like to extend our assistance and support in helping St. Gregory’s University students successfully complete their degrees on time.

We will accept all of your St. Gregory’s University classes. If you transferred in any classes to St. Gregory’s, we will transfer in all of those classes to Benedictine College, too!

Benedictine College offers many degree programs that are quite similar to those offered at St. Gregory’s. If you are pursuing one of these degrees with this major, you will be able to find a similar major at Benedictine College and you will be able to finish on time. Specifically, those majors are:

  • Bachelor of Arts in Humanities with majors in English, History, Liberal Arts, Philosophy, Philosophy for Religious Studies, Secondary English Language Arts Education, Theatre and Visual Arts.
  • Bachelor of Arts in Theology
  • Bachelor of Science in Business with majors in Accounting, Business Management and Marketing (our degree program is a Bachelor of Arts in Business, but it is nevertheless very similar in scope and content).
  • Bachelor of Science in Natural Science with majors in Biology, Biomedical Sciences, Exercise Science, Fitness and Health Promotion, mathematics, Mathematics Education and Secondary Life Science/Biology Education.
  • Bachelor of Science in Social Science (once again, our degree programs are Bachelor of Arts, but nevertheless very similar in scope and content) with majors in Communication Studies, Criminal Justice, Elementary Education, Political Science, Social Science and Secondary Social Studies Education.
  • Master in Business Administration. The distance between Shawnee, Oklahoma, and Atchison, Kansas, is approximately 375 miles. While Benedictine College is a residential college, we do offer a distance Master’s of Business Administration degree.

Benedictine College is a member of the NAIA and strongly supports its successful athletic teams including baseball, basketball, soccer, track & field, softball, volleyball and cheerleading and we welcome St. Gregory’s student-athletes to our campus.

If you are a student in good academic and disciplinary standing, you will automatically be accepted at Benedictine College. Here are the easy steps to transfer to Benedictine College for the spring 2018 semester:

  1. Complete the free, online Teach-out Application.
  2. Email your unofficial transcript to Jon Krebsbach, Director of Transfer Enrollment.

We will use this information to maximize financial aid options and minimize disruptions in your planned educational expenses.
