The Scholarship Ball is Benedictine College’s premier fundraising event, held annually for the past 38 years. In 2008 the Scholarship Ball was named by the Independent Magazine as one of the Top 10 Fundraising Events in the Kansas City area for 2007. Over 99 percent of our students receive some type of financial assistance and proceeds from the event fund scholarships for deserving students who would not otherwise be able to attend Benedictine College. One highlight of the event is the presentation of the Cross of the Order of St. Benedict to individuals whose values are consistent with the mission of Benedictine College and who are supporters of higher education. COMMON QUESTIONS Will I know anyone at the Benedictine College Scholarship Ball?Yes, last year the Ball’s attendance exceeded 600 guests, including alumni, friends and corporate sponsors. Sponsors are offered tables of eight to ten guests each. You may invite faculty members, student scholars or members of the religious communities of Mount St. Scholastica Monastery or St. Benedict’s Abbey to join you at your table if you choose not to bring your own guests.
