Head Women’s Basketball Coach Chad Folsom has announced the signing of Chayla Rutledge to a national letter of intent.
Rutledge, a senior at Stockton High School in Stockton, Mo., is a standout performer for her high school team. Chayla helped lead her Stockton High School team to a 28-3 record and the 3A State Title this year and was named the MVP of the 3A tournament. On the season, she averaged 15 points and 7 rebounds, shooting 78 percent from the foul line and earned first team All-League, first team All-District, and first team All-State honors.
“Chayla will bring toughness, scoring, rebounding, and a strong work ethic to our team," Coach Folsom said. "Not only is Chayla a very good basketball player, she also is an exceptional student. She is going to fit in very well at Benedictine College and our Lady Raven family."
During her career at Stockton High School, Chayla was a four-year starter and scored over 1,700 points, while pulling down over 800 rebounds. She was also a McDonald’s All-American nominee.
Rutledge will be joining fellow Benedictine Lady Raven recruit Jackie Ziesel, who was also a McDonald’s All-American nominee and fist team All-State in 3A in Missouri, on the hardwood next year.
