Raven women's basketball head coach Chad Folsom has announced the signing of his third McDonald's All-America nominee to his incoming freshman class.
This past week Hayden High School standout Jayde Reid (pictured front row center) signed a letter of intent to play basketball for Benedictine next season.
Jayde is a 5’10 guard from Topeka who led the Hayden Wildcats to an 18-6 record and a trip to the 4A State Tournament. She averaged over 17 points per game and earned first-team All-City, first-team All-Conference, and first-team All-State honors.
She is the daughter of Nate and Judy Reid (back row left) and was joined for her signing by Hayden assistant coach Dan Ruda (back row right)
“We are very excited to have Jayde join our Lady Raven family," Coach Folsom said. "Jayde is a very smart player and knows how to score. She is also a very strong student, good leader and great person who will excel at Benedictine College."
Jayde also excelled on the volleyball court at Hayden, where she was an all-city and all-ttate performer for her high school volleyball team.
For the 2011-2012 season, Jayde is the third McDonald’s All-American nominee that has signed with the Benedictine, joining Jackie Ziesel and Chayla Rutledge.
