Softball season ends in HAAC Opening Round

Ravens fall to Baker Univeristy 7-0

OVERLAND PARK – After waiting two days and then another hour on Sunday to start the 2013 HAAC Softball Championship Series, the Raven softball team finally got to take on Baker University in the opening round.


Baker got the better of Benedictine and handed the Ravens a 7-0 loss to end the 2013 season for Benedictine.


Pitcher Kaitlyn Nill (Jr., Lenexa) earned the start for the Ravens and threw the first three and two-thirds innings. She gave up four earned runs off eight hits while striking out two before giving way to Mallory Goulding (Fr., Plainfield, Ill.) Goulding threw the final two and one-third innings, giving up one run off four hits.


Center fielder Briana Rombach (Jr., Washington, Mo.) picked up the Ravens lone hit in the loss.


Benedictine finishes the 2013 season with an overall record of 21-20.
