Benedictine is coming off a season in which they earned a berth in the NAIA Football Championship Series and finished with an overall record of 9-3.

The Ravens finished third in the Heart of America Athletic Conference and were one of three teams from the HAAC to qualify for the NAIA FCS.

Coach Wilcox and his staff have been working with the squad since returning from Spring Break to prepare for the Spring Game and the 2012 season.

Back to lead the offense for the fall will be quarter Bill Noonan (Jr., Houston, Texas). He will have a talented group of receivers and running backs at his disposal next season, led by 2011 first-team All-HAAC running back Cameron Fore (Jr., Rolla, Mo.)

Along with Fore, Benedictine returns its top two receivers from 2011 in Geoff Akpom (Jr., San Diego) and Jordan Jackson (Jr., Altamonte Springs, Fla.)

Defensively, the Ravens established themselves as one of the top rushing defenses in the country in 2011 and back to guide the team through their 2012 campaign is HAAC Defensive Player of the Year Jordan Ancar (Sr., Port Sulphur, La.)

Ancar is joined by safety Ashton Stephens (Sr., Topeka) to lead the defensive secondary. Stephens was also named to the 2011 All-HAA first team.

Benedictine will begin its run through 2012 on the road on Aug. 25 as they travel to Seward, Neb,. to take on Concordia University at 6 p.m. The Ravens will open their five-game home schedule on Sept. 1 against Sterling College at 1 p.m. at Larry Wilcox Stadium.
