Symposium on Catholic Social Teaching and the Economy - Oct. 22

This panel presentation will feature a discussion of various aspects of Rep. Paul Ryan's commencement speech at Benedictine College and a reply written by Dr. Richard Coronado, chair of the Department of Economics at Benedictine.  In his speech, Ryan outlined his views on Catholic social teaching and the economy.  Following the speech, Coronado sent him a reply in which he addressed certain points made by Ryan.  Ryan sent a hand-written note in which he thanked Coronado and welcomed the dialogue.

 

The panel's moderator is Dr. David Harris from the Department of Economics.  The event will take place in the McAllister Board Room on the fourth floor of the Ferrell Academic Center on Tuesday, Oct. 22, beginning at 7:00 p.m.  Sponsored by the School of Business and the Departments of Economics, Theology and Political Science, the event is free and open to the public.
