Baseball Falls to Peru State College
Bobcats sweep doubleheader 6-3, 8-0

PERU, Neb. – The Raven baseball team hit the road Monday to conclude their divisional conference series against the Peru State College Bobcats.
Benedictine (13-22, 7-11 HAAC) dropped both games to Peru State (24-13, 8-8 HAAC) as the Bobcats took game one 6-3 and game two 9-0.
In the opener, the Ravens sent John Huber (Jr., Platte City, Mo.) to the hill. Huber went three innings before he was relieved by Adam Pink (Sr,. Albuquerque, N.M.) finished the final three innings. Huber suffered the loss, giving up five earned runs off seven hits. Pink held the Bobcats scoreless while giving up three hits and striking out four.
At the plate, left fielder Gordan Weliver (Jr., Englewood, Colo.) went 2 for 3 with a double. Designated hitter Aaron Molinaro (Jr., Lincoln, Neb.) added a three-run home run for his team-leading fifth home run on the season in the loss.
In game two, Josh Piper (Sr., McPherson) earned the start and threw the first four innings before he was relieved by Lukas Leeper (Sr., Rossville). Piper gave up seven earned runs off 11 hits while striking out two in the loss. Leeper gave up one hit over two innings in relief.
At the plate, the Ravens were limited to just two hits, a double off the bat of Weliver and a single from second baseman Adam Burns (Jr., Overland Park).
The Ravens remain on the road Tuesday, stepping out of conference for a single nine-inning game at 6:30 p.m. in Leavenworth against the University of St. Mary.
Tuesday's night game is being played at Sportsfield Park in Leavenworth – not on the St. Mary campus. The facility is located at 20th and Ottawa Streets.
The Ravens return home for a four-game division HAAC series over the weekend against Avila University. First pitch on both Saturday and Sunday is scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday's doubleheader will be live on the radio on BRSN and KAIR 1470 AM.
