Kessler on the Presidential Primary System

It is Primary Season in the United States and as the nation moves on from “Super Tuesday,” Dr. Frank Kessler, professor in the Political Science Department at Benedictine College, wrote an article on the presidential primary system. He was asked by WalletHub, a financial information and planning website, about whether the country should go to a single, nationwide primary rather than hold individual state primaries. He said both the political parties and the states would be reluctant to go along with such a move.

“Voting goes on in the states and states want to be a part of the process, rather than be homogenized in an omnibus national pool,” he said. Read the entire article here.
