DIRECTOR OF TECHNOLOGY AND INFORMATION SERVICES

POSITION SUMMARY
Manage and coordinate activities of the Benedictine College Technology Information Services department to ensure an efficient and economically sound operation. This includes directing, staffing, budgeting, and purchasing, as needed for the department.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Direct daily operations of the department, analyzing workflow, establishing priorities, assigning and reviewing work assignments, developing standards and setting deadlines. Evaluate the College’s technology use and needs and recommend improvements, such as hardware and software upgrades. Develop and interpret organizational goals, policies and procedures. Consult with users, administration, vendors, and technicians to assess computing needs and systems requirements. Meet with department heads, managers, supervisors, vendors and others to solicit cooperation and resolve problems. Control operational budgets and expenditures. Recruit, hire, train, and supervise staff. Manage backup, security and user help systems. Prepare and review operational reports or project progress reports as required. Purchase hardware, software and other necessary equipment and supplies as required. Stay abreast of advances in technology.

EDUCATION
Bachelor of Science degree in information systems related field or equivalent experience. Masters Degree preferred.

EXPERIENCE
Minimum of five years experience in information systems related field with minimum of two years experience managing personnel.

GRADUATE ASSISTANT ATHLETIC TRAINER

Benedictine College is currently accepting applications for a graduate assistant athletic trainer.  This position will be a 10-month contract beginning Aug 1, 2008 and is renewable for a second year.  Job duties include but not limited to: care and prevention of athletic injuries, injury and rehabilitation documentation, supervision of athletic training students, general medical care, physician assistance, along with practice and game coverage.  Benedictine College offers a Masters in Business or Education.   Full tuition stipend will be provided.  Additional income options are available.

Qualifications:

Assistantship is contingent upon acceptance into a Benedictine College graduate program.  Applicants must be certified or NATA-BOC exam eligible by Aug 1, 2008.

RAVEN STORE MANAGER

Manage and coordinate activities of the Benedictine College Raven Store to ensure an efficient and economically sound operation. This includes staffing, budgeting, purchasing, display and inventory. Hours are flexible, depending upon store hours.  This position reports to the VP of College Relations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
o   Provide customer service by greeting and assisting customers, and responding to customer inquiries and complaints.
o   Monitor sales activities to ensure that customers receive satisfactory service and quality goods.
o   Direct and supervise employees engaged in sales, inventory-taking, reconciling cash receipts, or in performing services for customers.
o   Inventory stock and reorder when inventory drops to a specified level.
o   Keep records of purchases, sales, and requisitions.
o   Hire, train, and evaluate personnel
o   Perform work activities of subordinates, such as cleaning and organizing shelves and displays and selling merchandise.
o   Establish and implement policies, goals, objectives, and procedures for their department.
o   Estimate consumer demand and determine the types and amounts of goods to be sold.
o   Examine merchandise to ensure that it is correctly priced and displayed and that it functions as advertised.
o   Plan and prepare work schedules and keep records of employees' work schedules and time cards.
o   Review inventory and sales records to prepare reports for management and budget departments.
o   Plan and coordinate advertising campaigns and sales promotions with the VP of College Relations, and prepare merchandise displays.
o   Confer with company officials to develop methods and procedures to increase sales, expand markets, and promote business.
o   Establish credit policies and operating procedures.
