Stephanie Redd

Coach Stephanie Redd is in her fourth year as the Head Coach for the Raven Dance Team. Coach Redd has 11 years of experience in competitive dance including the college level. Before coming to BC, she was an instructor and performer in the Northwest Missouri State Dance Company from 1999-2003.  Out of college she taught dance in an local dance school.  

In the 2007-2008 school term, her first season with the Raven Dance Team, she took to the team to Conference honors. The team placed first in Small Dance at the Heart of America Athletic Spirit Squad Championship, and third place in the Hip Hop division.  
As she started recruiting for the upcoming school term, Stephanie soon realized that the accomplishments that the team had made during the year, was bringing phenomenal dancers to Benedictine College.  As Coach Redd and the team went into the 2009-2010 school term they were on a mission to be given a bid to the National Dance Alliance Collegiate Nationals held in Daytona Beach, Florida.  Since the team had grown leaps and bounds, Stephanie knew that she had her work cut out for her to compete in Large Dance at the HAAC Spirit Squad Championship.

In 2010, the Raven Dance Team took third place in Large Dance Division at conference, and they moved on to the National Championship in April.  As she coached the team, and pushed them to be the best, Benedictine College Dance Team was placed fifth nationally for the first time in Benedictine History.  Coach Redd has since then taken the team and placed at a collegiate national level for the past two years.  

As a member of the Heart of America Athletic Conference, she serves as a governance board member for the dance division of the spirit squad championship that takes place in February every year.  

In the summer of 2009, the team nominated Coach Redd for the Universal Dance Association Coach of the Month. The team got their wish.  In October of 2009, Stephanie was named the UDA October Coach of the Month. To read the article, follow the link, http://uda.varsity.com/octobercoach.aspx.

Coach Redd resides in Kansas City, Mo, with her husband Benjamin and two children, Carlie and Logan.
