BENEDICTINE ATHLETIC LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE
(In Partnership with the University of Notre Dame’s “Play Like a Champion Today” initiative)
JUNE 17-19, 2010
ATHLETIC LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE
Leadership is one of the most needed assets in our world today. Whether in athletics or life, strong leadership paves the way to success. Strong leadership gives direction to others when dealing with crisis. Strong leadership establishes a culture where people are able to reach beyond what they thought capable. It is because of this that we have created the Benedictine Athletic Leadership Conference so that a teenage athlete can experience and learn effective leadership in a hands-on, active environment.
If you answered “yes” to these questions, then this conference is for you.

TESTIMONIES
Dear Mr. Baniewicz,
You may or may not remember my teammates and me from Newman Catholic High School, but we attended the leadership camp last spring. We were having some issues within the team during the off season, so our coach sent us down. I just wanted to say thank you for what you did for me and my teammates. When we got back from the camp we sat down with coach and decided to change a lot of the things we did. For instance, we elected to do away with captains. We were the leaders of the team, but decided we wanted everyone involved. I think it made a big difference in holding everyone accountable.
We can carry the things we learned with us all through life and no one can take that away. With your help we experienced things we never thought possible. We were a blue collar group of guys, all good football players. We didn't have a single superstar on our team, but we also didn't have any weaknesses. In junior high we were a below .500 club. No one expected us to do what we did, but when we bonded together nobody could stop us. We lost a heartbreaker in OT of the state championship. It was hard, but looking back, I wouldn't change it for the world. I am proud of what your camp taught me and what I was able to accomplish from its lessons. Thank you and God bless.
Sincerely,
Alan (Iowa)
