Welcome to the information page on Benedictine College School of Faith.  In partnership with Benedictine College, Holy Family School of Faith continues to offer not only theologically rich faith formation courses but Benedictine “RI” course listings with content that satisfy college credit needs as well. Holy Family School of Faith continues to operate independently of Benedictine College as a canonically approved association of the faithful in the Archdiocese of Kansas City in Kansas.  Equipped with its own independent faculty, Holy Family School of Faith can operate as Benedictine College School of Faith in Archdiocesan catholic schools and parishes; making college credit available to faculties, staff, catechists and interested persons (Article in The Leaven). 

If you are interested in finding whether credit is available through Benedictine College for a course you are interested in taking with Holy Family School of Faith, please visit our list of approved locations and professors in the links on the left of this screen under the Benedictine College School of Faith link; especially the “Current Offerings” link.  On the left-side column you will also find: a link for which courses cover endorsed areas with the Kansas State Department of Education (KSDE); a link to our “Course Catalog” with explanations on how the 2008 partnership subsumed the Institute for Religious Studies into the Benedictine College School of Faith partnership but continued the continuity of programming.  The same “Course Catalog” link provides course descriptions and links to course syllabi in the section on “modules”.  There is also a link just for Archdiocesan Catholic school principals so they can see procedures for ensuring teachers are getting the forms they need for keeping records of their continuing education.

Important to our longtime friends, on the left-side column of this homepage, there is a link for “Institute Records Requests”.  Here, people who were taking courses just for continuing education, but not college credit, can request digital copies of all courses taken with the former IRS and into the 2008-2009 first year of partnership as Benedictine College School of Faith.  We cannot provide records for courses taken with Holy Family School of Faith prior to our partnership nor courses taken separately with Holy Family School of Faith outside of registrations when courses are offered as “Benedictine College School of Faith”.  In accord with developments to Archdiocesan Catholic school policy, and since Fall of 2009, Benedictine College now only continues records and transcripts for courses taken for college credit.  Nevertheless, all previous records will be made available by following the link to the left.

Finally, within our partnership, Holy Family School of Faith remains the primary deliverer of faith formation courses for Archdiocese of Kansas City in Kansas Catholic Schools and parishes. Besides the many other wonderful programs the Archdiocese offers parishes through its Office of Catechesis, within the Benedictine College School of Faith partnership, Holy Family School of Faith should be contacted first to see how they can help you with your parish needs.  They can also inform you of the many locations outside our “Current Offerings” link where they have other programming.  In its stewardship of educational resources, Benedictine College will continue to be a resource to parishes who may request additional courses.  Contact the Academic Director for Benedictine College School of Faith through the link on the left (“Academic Director”) where you can also see recommended professors, lecturers, and options.
