ATHLETIC TRAINING
Benedictine College is one of the few small-college level schools to have a fully accredited athletic training program. While the students have the opportunity to study athletic training in the classroom they are also given the chance to work with Patrick Hodapp, head athletic trainer, and his assistant athletic trainers, Jarod Crowley and Kelli Ritter.
The main training room is located in the Student Union's lower level. Athletic training services are provided to student athletes only; club sports are not included. The certified trainers are available from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. during week days and often are at athletic events on the weekends.
Athletic training is closed during student vacations and summer months.

Patrick Hodapp, MS Ed, ATC, LAT
Patrick Hodapp enters his fifth year at Benedictine College, fourth year as Head Athletic Trainer. Before coming to Benedictine College he completed his under graduate and graduate degrees at the University of Kansas, where he served as a Student Athletic Trainer and Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer.
He has previously worked for the Kansas Center for Athletic Medicine where he assisted team physicians and local high schools. Patrick served as the athletic training intern for the Kansas City Wizards during the 2000 Champion season and returned as the part time Certified Athletic trainer in the 2001 and 2003 seasons.
As the Head Athletic Trainer, Patrick is responsible for the over all welling being of the student athletes. Focusing on prevention, care, treatment and rehabilitation of the more then 450 student athletes at Benedictine college. Patrick also assists the Athletic Training Education Program (ATEP) as a clinical instructor and academic instructor.
Jarod Crowley MS Ed, ATC, CSCS, LAT
Jarod enters his fourth year at Benedictine College as the Assistant Athletic Trainer. Prior to beginning his career at BC, Jarod earned a double major in Athletic training and Physical Education at Graceland University in Lamoni, Iowa. While a senior at Graceland, he also obtained the credential of Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist.
After college, Jarod interned at Neosho County Community College in Chanute, Kansas. While there, he obtained his Athletic Training Certification in the fall of 2001 and was hired on as a full time staff Athletic trainer.
In the fall of 2002, Jarod returned to Graduate School at Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville Missouri where he obtained his Master’s of Education with an emphasis in Athletic Administration.
As the Assistant Athletic Trainer, Jarod’s main duties include the care, prevention, and rehabilitation of the student-athlete population here at Benedictine College. Jarod also assists in the Athletic Training Education Program (ATEP) as a clinical and academic instructor.
Kelli Ritter MSed, ATC, LAT
Kelli was hired as the third full-time athletic training staff member during the summer of the 2008. She comes to Benedictine after earning her masters at Central Methodist University in 2008. Whilte at CMU she also worked as a graduate assistant athletic trainer.
She did her undergraduate work at Culver-Stockton College where she graduated in 2006 with her B.S. in athletic training.
A native of Monroe City, Mo., Kelli will serve as the primary athletic trainer for the volleyball team and then will share duties with her fellow staff members during basketball season and into the spring.
