Soccer Launches Campaign in Honor of John Casey Fundraiser Geared toward Building John Casey Press Box sports information department
In honor of the contributions of former Benedictine College men's soccer coach and alumnus John Casey, the college is pleased to announce a campaign designed to raise funds for a lasting legacy to Coach Casey. Current men’s soccer coach and Director of Athletic Giving, Rob Herringer, has announced a campaign that will fund the construction of the John Casey Press Box at the BC Soccer Complex. “The press box will be a reminder of Coach Casey's legacy as both the most successful soccer coach in the program's 50-year history and as a man who was very proud to call himself a Raven,” Coach Herringer said. The press box will help bring an additional level of professionalism to what has already become known as one of the best soccer-only college facilities in the region. In order to complete the construction on time, the goal of the campaign is to raise $50,000 by March 1, 2011. This season marks the 50th anniversary of Raven soccer at Benedictine. Over that time, Coach Casey was not only one of the most successful coaches on the field but his unrelenting support for Benedictine continued for many years after he left his coaching position. Anyone interested in contributing to the 50-50 Campaign, named for the 50th anniversary and the $50,000 goal, can download the Press Box Sponsorship Form and follow the instructions at the bottom of the form for its return.
