RESIDENCE LIFE
Benedictine College has a rich tradition in residential life; residentiality is the fourth pillar in the college’s mission. This tradition stems from St. Benedict, who founded the first universities in Europe and established the first residence halls or dormitories near these monastic centers of education as early as the fifth century. Benedictine priests, brothers, and sisters co-sponsor Benedictine College. Living in residence halls, men and women prepare themselves to become responsible community members through intellectual, spiritual, physical, sensual, and emotional maturation. The cardinal virtues of fortitude, justice, prudence, and temperance, and the theological virtues of faith, hope, and love are taught with the aim of forming a graduate who does the good quickly, easily, and joyfully.

ON-CAMPUS HOUSES
There are on-campus houses available to juniors and seniors only. Each house can hold three to four occupants. To live in an on-campus house, students must apply at the end of the spring semester. As part of the application process, they must complete a service project in the community and complete a semester of activities for Benedictine College.
