BC Partners with KMBZ Morning News Business Faculty to Appear on "Inside the Boardroom" with Mike Shanin
Officials at Benedictine College in Atchison, Kan. and News Radio 980 KMBZ in Mission, Kan. announced today a programming partnership that will feature the school’s business faculty. The professors will be regular correspondents on the Inside the Boardroom program hosted by KMBZ’s on-air personality, Mike Shanin. Beginning in August 2007, Benedictine’s segment airs every Thursday during the peak morning commute at 7:35 a.m.
“We are thrilled to welcome Benedictine’s team of talented business professors to our Morning News line-up so they can help our executives, managers, owners and professionals tackle strategic business issues during their daily work commute,” said executive producer Andrew Ellenberg.
KMBZ product development executive Jack Ancona added, “Benedictine College is providing information that our listeners need to make intelligent decisions and accelerate the growth of their businesses.”
Nationally respected News Radio 980 KMBZ is Kansas City’s only live, local news station with a team of award wining reporters who have been providing the most up to date original news, commentary and analysis in the area for over 85 years. The exclusive agreement with Benedictine College calls for a special series of 52 consecutive weekly segments and includes tapping the college’s expert faculty from both the undergraduate programs and the Executive MBA program to compliment KMBZ’s business news coverage.
Professor Jay Johnson will kick off the programming in August with segments focusing on such topics as the marketing process, product delivery, branding and Internet marketing. Other professors will follow with additional insights into business ethics, entrepreneurship, management training, and other relevant topics that guide listeners through the major issues of the day from a focused business perspective.
“Never before has the Benedictine business faculty had the chance to shine like this,” said Steve Johnson, director of marketing and communications for the college. “We have some tremendous professors, many of whom have had successful careers in the business world before coming to us as teachers. Now the entire Kansas City metro area will have the chance to learn more about them and learn more from them.”
In addition to the live feature airing every Thursday, the college plans to make the segments available in an online archive at www.benedictine.edu. Benedictine College is a Catholic, residential, liberal arts college located on a 110-acre wooded campus in Atchison with a graduate program campus in Roeland Park, Kan. The school prides itself on outstanding academics, strong athletic programs, and an exceptional sense of community and belonging.
