GRADUATE ASSISTANT ATHLETIC TRAINER

Benedictine College is currently accepting applications for a graduate assistant athletic trainer.  This position will be a 10-month contract beginning Aug 1, 2008 and is renewable for a second year.  Job duties include but not limited to: care and prevention of athletic injuries, injury and rehabilitation documentation, supervision of athletic training students, general medical care, physician assistance, along with practice and game coverage.  Benedictine College offers a Masters in Business or Education.   Full tuition stipend will be provided.  Additional income options are available.

Qualifications:

Assistantship is contingent upon acceptance into a Benedictine College graduate program.  Applicants must be certified or NATA-BOC exam eligible by Aug 1, 2008.

NURSING DIRECTOR

Benedictine College, a Catholic, Benedictine, liberal arts, residential college is seeking a founding director for its newly approved Nursing (BSN) program.

The successful candidate will have the skills and vision to build a nursing program consistent with the mission of Benedictine College.  The Director is the academic and administrative head of the program, and will be responsible for overseeing educational programs, academic standards, services, program accreditation, clinical affiliations, and personnel.  Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Teaching and promoting teaching excellence.
  • Supervising   personnel, and planning class schedules and faculty workloads.
  • Student recruitment and retention.
  • Administering policies and developing the academic program.
  • Ensuring compliance with the principles for Catholic health care providers as articulated in the USCCB document Ethical and Religious Directives for Catholic Health Care Services(4th ed.)
  • Supervising implementation of program objectives and student learning outcomes.
  • Budget planning and management.
  • Leading the accreditation processes for the program.
  • Serving as liaison to the health care communities.

Desired qualifications include:

  • Doctorate in Nursing or related field, or Master’s degree in nursing and be committed to completing an accredited doctoral program.
  • Expertise in program and curriculum development and assessment.
  • Knowledge of accreditation processes.
  • Ability to work effectively with minimal administrative direction.
  • Familiarity with Catholic principles of bioethics and health care
  • Kansas license as a registered nurse or eligibility for licensure.

Residence Director

Benedictine College is accepting applications for two Residence Director positions. One position will be integral to the formation of students in an upper-class hall of sophomore women and the other in a freshmen women’s hall.

The Resident Director must be dedicated to building a dynamic, nourishing, enriching hall community that fosters Christian spirit and character in each resident.  The RD will supervise a Resident Assistant staff, and be responsible for hall programs.  Applicants should be open to learning and applying concepts from the Theology of the Body in a community living environment.  The successful applicant will be a role model of Christian character and service with the ability to understand, embrace, and live out the values expressed in the college’s Mission Statement.

Support Technician / Help Desk

Job Status:  Full Time
Work Schedule:  Monday - Friday.  Some instances of weekends and overtime

POSITION SUMMARY

Resolves computer software and hardware problems for all employees. Consults with users to determine source of specific error and recommend solution. Needs solid software experience and working knowledge of hardware and hardware configurations. May set up hardware for employees and maintain network and telecommunications systems. Repairs maintains, troubleshoots, and installs computer systems, hardware and computer peripherals. Understands commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Provide helpdesk support for all existing personal computers and peripherals and network as well as all enterprise wide desktop applications including operating systems, communications, desktop automation, and third party applications.
  • Provide access capabilities for users to various network resources, office suites, e-mail and Internet.
  • Establish and maintain access security for users including files and printers sharing, email profiles and Internet services.
  • Maintain a professional relationship with existing communication and other service providers.
  • Under the supervision of the IT Director oversee the provision of services under communications and other service contracts. Perform archiving, backups and restoration of files as per user request.
  • Assist in backups and storage both on and off site. Monitor and maintain inventory of all IT supported hardware and software to include peripherals and user statistics.
  • Participates in the development and implementation of helpdesk policies and procedures.
  • Evaluates customer satisfaction and follows up with end users to insure problems are resolved.
  • Prepare tracking of requests and enter into system/report and analyze activity.
  • Assist with special projects as assigned.
  • Must be able to complete physical capacity profile testing.
