Erin Cooper joined the Raven volleyball coaching on staff on Feb. 1, 2013, as the head coach.  She comes to Benedictine College after a brief stint as the assistant coach at powerhouse Heart of America Athletic Conference foe MidAmerica Nazarene University in 2010.

Prior to MNU, she served as an assistant coach for three years (2007-2010) with volleyball program Mercer University in Macon, Ga.  Cooper’s instruction on the floor helped the Bears finish with the best record in school history.

Cooper spent seven years as the head coach at Seminole State College in Seminole, Okla.  She was hired to start the program and after three years of inception, the Trojans made it to the NJCAA National Tournament, finishing ninth. Cooper was also recognized as the Region II Coach of the Year for her accomplishments during that season. Throughout her time spent at SSC she coached numerous all-region players, academic all-Americans, and one NJCAA all-American.  

Dodge City Community College in Dodge City, KS is where Cooper began her head coaching career. She took the Conquistadors to its first 30-win season.

A native of Wayne, Neb., Cooper starred in her hometown at Wayne State College lettering in both volleyball and basketball.  She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Wellness and master’s in Sport Management and Administration.  

She currently resides in Kansas City, Mo., with her husband, Kenneth, and twin girls, Kendall and Kaylee.

Katie Latenser 913.360.7344

Katie Latenser joined the Raven volleyball coaching staff in the Fall of 2011 as a graduate assistant, where she served in that capacity for two years and received her Master's Degree in Education. Latenser now returns for her first season as Assistant Coach.


Born and raised in Kansas City, Mo., Latenser played varsity volleyball at Notre Dame de Sion high school where she helped lead the team to a State Championship win in 2001.


After high school, she played for two years at Johnson County Community College where she helped her team achieve an NJCAA National Championship win in 2005 and a 9th place finish in 2006. At JCCC she was a two time All-America selection; Honorable Mention in 2005 and Second Team in 2006.  Latenser also holds the current career Digs record at Johnson County Community College with 1,391.

She continued her collegiate volleyball career at the NCAA Div. II level at Northern Kentucky University in Highland Heights, Ky., for the 2007 and 2008 seasons. During her time there she helped guide the Norse to two Division II National Championship tournament appearances.

Latenser was named as an Academic All-Conference selection in 2008 and graduated from NKU with a degree in Physical Education and a minor in Health Education.
