Commencement - Parking & Seating

Parking

Parking is limited on campus. Motorists will be directed to other parking areas with the College shuttle service providing transportation to Larry Wilcox Stadium on Saturday morning.

Handicapped/ADA parking will be available for anyone displaying appropriate permits on their vehicles. Campus security will be on hand to help direct you to the handicap parking area.

For more information about handicap parking or seating in the stadium, please feel free to direct your questions to Lori Chew at 913.360.7421 or lchew@benedictine.edu.

Seating

Commencement will be held in Larry Wilcox Stadium and seating is open and on a first come, first served basis. The main entrance to the stadium will open at 7:30 a.m. and all guests should plan to arrive and be seated by 8:30 a.m. Commencement will begin promptly at 9:00 a.m.

Out of respect for the graduates and other guests, there will be no seating in the stadium after 8:45 a.m. until the graduates have processed in and are seated.

Handicap Accessibility

Commencement venues including the St. John Paul II Student Center, Murphy Recreation Center and Larry Wilcox Stadium are all ADA accessible. For seating during the ceremony or for other accommodations, please speak to a college employee upon arrival and they will be able to direct you as needed.

Tickets

No tickets are necessary for seating in Wilcox Stadium and on the field.

In case of inclement weather, the location for Commencement may be moved indoors to the Ralph Nolan Gymnasium where Commencement is traditionally held. In that case, each graduate will have two (2) guest tickets for entrance into the gym. Only those guests, students and faculty will be allowed in the gym.

There are multiple simulcast locations for friends and family to be able to watch the ceremony. The simulcast locations for Commencement are O’Malley-McAllister Auditorium, the Murphy Recreation Center and the Dining Hall.

Simulcast Locations

Please note that the outdoor ceremony will also be simulcast for anyone who wishes to stay out of the sun or weather. The outdoor ceremony will also be simulcast into O’Malley-McAllister Auditorium (across the hall from the Ralph Nolan Gymnasium), the Murphy Recreation Center, and the classrooms inside the Amino Center (behind the stadium).
